Liz Kelly is an artist based in Raleigh NC. She, time and time again, pours herself into each piece of handcrafted pottery. She made these steins especially for the Small Batch collection. What I love to witness about Liz, is her ability to challenge herself in the studio. Her work evolves over the years while she holds fast to her mission to create pieces that have a voice, show their intentionality, and can last for lifetimes.
This is the stein I reach for each morning. I fill it with my favorite royal blend black tea, creamy nut milk and a touch of honey. In truth, this stein would be great for all types of beverages and for me, it’s a perfect fit.
After the Rain - Petrichor is the mesmerizing aroma that emerges after a heavy rain falls on dry scorched land. The earth soaks in the rain and returns micro organisms, minerals, and the essence of plant oils and ozone to the surface. We then relish in its deep, sensual, and at the same time fresh and airy notes. This earthly marvel was studied through the 1800’s by many in our effort to understand our instincts to find water as well as our own relationship to the land and all that she offers. This is a smell that we all experience. An exchange between earth and air.
